Configuration Management and Change Control involves controlling and managing changes to information systems to ensure integrity of data and information. Change Control activities must encompass not only the software, but also the routine activities that enable an agency’s information systems to function properly.
Our world class systems professionals not only establish direct controls, but also work directly with an agency’s systems personnel at all levels to define roles and accountability such as:
|
• |
Strategic Planning |
• |
Business Case Development |
• |
Budget Development (OMB Circular Exhibit 300 and 53) |
• |
Return on Investment (ROI) – Planned performance and benefits versus achievements |
• |
Risk Mitigation
|
Success Story Our configuration management and change control services have proven invaluable to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). In maintaining a current and compliant system’s security posture, we review all ATF system changes on behalf of the ISSO to determine the level of compliance with the agency’s System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). We continue to work with agency personnel to provide system change control solutions to help meet ATF business requirements. We also help maintain the IT security folder for ATF’s Configuration Management Tool Polytronic Version Control System (PVCS).
